equinox/solstice

Equinox

Night bows

equinox haunted

but not yet

solstice thin

A silver

jawbone of stars

hangs

over harvest

heavy fields

waiting for

winter's hunger

* * *

Solstice

Coldflowering

Slow moon

Swims out

From swift day

The open body

Of winter

On the wing

On the march

The fields

Remain hungry

And the birds

Lantern the night

Hiding sun

Inside skin

Feathers

And song

Gone

To ground

Until the crown

And the chords

Creep up

Through mud

And Green shoots

Form thorns

And melody

From the silence

Of mourning

But now

No new leaves

Coldflowering

Slow moon

Blooms

Slivered silver

Against Grey
